NCC Education Accredited Partner Centre, Gateway Graduate School, honoured its students with a magnificent graduation ceremony held at their campus in Columbo, Sri Lanka.
Students were presented with BSc (Hons) Degrees in Business Computing and Information Systems from the University of Wales and Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas from NCC Education.
Of the first batch of 11 graduates, two gained First Class Honours and another four gained Upper Second Class Honours, confirming the high standards of the Graduate School. A video message was played from the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Marc Clement, congratulating all the graduates and praising their achievements. On behalf of NCC Education, Mr. Stravens also presented a scholarship to Janak Bovinda Karannagoda, for his final year of study at the centre.
The chief guest and presenter, Professor Felix Stravens, Managing Director of NCC Education, congratulated the graduates and members of the faculty for their outstanding achievements. A total of three NCC Education Global High Achiever and three Regional High Achiever awards were presented to students, in recognition of their hard work and dedication.
Also awarded on the day was the Prof. Dayantha Wijeyesekera Prize for "Best All Round Student at Gateway Graduate School, for Academic Year 2009/2010". Prof. Wijeyesekera, the Governor of Gateway Graduate School, presented the award to Mohamed Sajjaad Ramzey, for his dedication and commitment to his studies.
Gateway, Sri Lanka's leading educational organization, has started to make important strides in tertiary education through its higher education institution, the Gateway Graduate School. Gateway Graduate School, in partnership with NCC Education, offers a choice of two academic pathways to complete Degrees in Business Computing and Information Systems or Business Administration, in Sri Lanka. In both Degrees, students are able to receive industry recognised qualifications - Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas, from NCC Education. The courses are offered on either a part-time or full-time basis and students have the option of completing the full programme in Sri Lanka or transferring to overseas universities in the UK, USA or Australia at the end of every academic year. An additional International Foundation Programme is available for students who wish to join after Sri Lankan or London O Levels. Arrangements are currently being made to offer Degrees in other fields of study and also to expand the institution into other areas of the country such as Kandy and Negombo.
