Staff from NCC Education were delighted to be able to present a cheque to Francis House Children's Hospice for £377.50.
The money had been raised over the past 12 months by staff at the Head Office in Didsbury, Manchester. Samantha Jones, Assistant Manager, Partner Marketing said "The Social Committee has worked tirelessly over the last year to arrange activities and events for staff to participate in, to raise money for local and national charities. We are delighted to be able to present Francis House with this cheque and hope the money makes a difference to the children who use their facilities".
Jemma Fitton, a fundraiser at the charity commented;
"I would like to say a huge thank you, on behalf of everyone at Francis House Children's Hospice, to NCC Education for their generous donation. It costs £2m a year to run the hospice and we get very little help from the Government and local health authorities. It is fundraising and donations that cover the vast majority of our running costs so we are extremely grateful for every single penny that comes through the door!
On top of this, because of an increased demand for care, we have also just opened another building - 'Francis Lodge' - which will accommodate teenagers and young adults. Whilst this is a hugely positive thing that was greatly needed, it does put further demands on our resources and so we are relying on the support of fundraisers and the local community now more than ever.
We greatly appreciate all the time and effort that NCC Education has put into their fundraising, £377.50 will make a big difference to the children of Francis House. Thank you!".
