NCC Education staff welcome East Asian partners to the UK Head Office

Three NCC Education partners from the East Asian region travelled to the UK to attend training sessions at Liverpool School of English – one of NCC Education’s newly accredited International Foundation Year (IFY) partner centres.

Managers from National University of Mongolia, Bidinform and Guangzhou Institute of Technology spent nearly two weeks in Liverpool, where they took part in training workshops and visited local attractions. The centre managers took the opportunity to visit the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores to discuss progression routes for their students. Liverpool is a highly attractive student destination; in 2004 the city became a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and in 2008 Liverpool became the first English city to be designated European Capital of Culture. No wonder Liverpool is a top International student destination.

On Wednesday 5th December the guests visited NCC Education's Head Office, located in Didsbury. NCC Education head office staff were thrilled to be able to discuss the centres' requirements and present exciting new projects and initiatives for 2013.

Janette Lister, Collaborations Manager, discussed university rankings and new university partnerships including the University of Leeds and Manchester Metropolitan University. Dr James Stephenson spoke about NCC Education's continuing efforts to be a high quality awarding body, and mentioned some of our plans for 2013 including the introduction of an online journal library. Martin Buck, Programme Development Manager discussed the launch of the new International Foundation Programme, and what the important changes were, he also spoke about programme development plans for 2013. Felicity Dale, Senior Marketing Executive spoke about her corporate objectives and how they can assist the partners in their student recruitment and student satisfaction, including the upcoming enhancements to the NCC Education website, in particular the University Progression section.

The guests also met most of the head office staff and then travelled to Manchester city centre to experience the famous Manchester Christmas Markets. One guest even had the opportunity to visit Old Trafford to watch Manchester United play in the Champion's League.
