International Certificate in Computer Studies (ICCS)

The programme provides an introduction to computing and equips students with the necessary skills for further study. The International Certificate in Computer Studies (ICCS) provides students with:

A broad but secure foundation in the fundamental concepts of computing.

Effective and practical IT skills.

An introduction to mathematical concepts and techniques, useful in both their understanding of computing and for their future studies.

An understanding of the essential concepts of computer programming.

The essential study skills needed to succeed at university.

Experience of a variety of assessment types, designed to give students a taste of higher education.
National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level: 3 Entry Requirements
Students must be able to demonstrate that they have:
- Previously studied English at secondary school level, OR
- Have the required minimum result in the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test (HEPT), click here for details, OR
- Have a valid score of 5.5 or above in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

The International Certificate in Computer Studies is assessed by assignments and examination.
What Next?
Successful students may progress to the NCC Education International Diploma in Computer Studies. Alternatively, the skills and understanding aquired on this course will support competent computing practice in the workplace of any of the popular desktop computing environments, but particular emphasis is placed on Windows.
