About The University

Manchester Metropolitan University offer international students courses that are relevant to the real world in a unique learning environment that encourages and fosters creativity. As one of the largest UK universities, they have more than 38,000 students, including 3,500 international students from 121 different countries.

The university’s International Office has over 17 dedicated and experienced members of staff and the Immigration and Welfare team provides confidential advice and guidance to help make students’ time in the UK a success, regularly hosting workshops to help with visa renewals as well as organising the Welcome Programme for international students.

Free English language classes and one-to-one tutorials are available for all international students at the university. Delivered by qualified and experienced tutors these classes focus on the skills needed for high quality academic writing, listening, reading and speaking, as well as grammar instruction.

Our campus in Cheshire, 36 miles (58km) from Manchester offers a welcoming, relaxed, community feel and easy access to nearby towns and the surrounding countryside.

MMU aim to accommodate all full-time EU and international students a place in their university residences in their first year, whether you are studying at the Manchester campus or the Cheshire campus. To help secure your preferred choice of accommodation, you can apply online for your place in a hall as soon as you have firmly accepted your university offer.

Halls of residence at the sites in Manchester and Cheshire offer a wide choice of rooms at a range of prices. There is everything from self-catered flats with en-suite rooms through to more traditional catered halls.
