We’re excited to announce the launch of a brand-new qualification in the NCC Education Computing pathway — the Level 2 Diploma in Computing (L2DC). This qualification is designed to provide learners aged 14 and above with a strong foundation in computing and digital skills, opening doors to further education and career opportunities in the tech sector.
What Is the Level 2 Diploma in Computing?
The Level 2 Diploma in Computing is a pre-foundation level qualification that serves as an accessible entry point into computing education. Whether students are currently completing their GCSEs/IGCSEs or are adult learners seeking a structured introduction to digital skills, this diploma offers a comprehensive and practical route into the world of computing.
Aligned with the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), the Level 2 Diploma in Computing (L2DC) is equivalent to UK secondary education up to age 16. It is ideal for learners at Key Stage 4 and beyond.
Entry Requirements
To enrol in the Level 2 Diploma in Computing, students should:
- Be working towards GCSE/IGCSE ‘O’ Levels or an equivalent qualification.
- Be predicted to achieve at least four subjects with minimum grades of ‘C’, ‘4’, or equivalent — including Mathematics and English.
- Be aged 14 or older. Adult learners are also welcome.
- Non-native English speakers should be able to manage the demands of studying and completing assessments in English.
Why Choose the Level 2 Diploma in Computing?
This diploma equips learners with essential computing knowledge and practical skills, preparing them for:
- Further study, including progression to the Level 3 Diploma in Computing.
- Entry-level roles in the digital and technology sectors.
- A pathway to higher education and professional careers in IT and business.
