Introducing Our New Level 2 Business Qualifications
Perfect for students aged 14- 16 still completing their GCSEs, our Level 2 Business pathway provides an early foundation for business education:
- Level 2 Award in Business (L2AB) – Comprising 2 core units, this qualification introduces students to the basics of business.
- Level 2 Certificate in Business (L2CB) – A qualification featuring 3 units, combining the basics of business with a mathematical approach.
- Level 2 Diploma in Business (L2DB) – This diploma offers students a comprehensive foundation in business studies.
These qualifications equip learners with practical business knowledge and provide pathways to higher-level studies. Accredited Partner Centres will need accreditation to deliver these programmes. Teaching and assessment materials are now available through our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).
Updated Level 3 Business Qualifications
We’ve redeveloped our Level 3 Diploma in Business and introduced a new option:
- Level 3 Award in Business (L3AB) – Focuses on key business concepts through a single core unit, ideal for learners beginning their journey.
- Level 3 Certificate in Business (L3CB) – Features 3 core units designed to provide a solid understanding of business fundamentals.
- Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) – Offers comprehensive coverage across multiple units, preparing students for advanced studies.
- Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business (L3EDB) – A more in-depth qualification, tailored for learners aspiring to progress to the Level 4 Diploma in Business and beyond.
This progression-focused pathway supports students aspiring to advance to the Level 4 Diploma in Business. All materials for the updated specifications are now accessible via the VLE.

If your centre is currently accredited to deliver the Level 3 Diploma in Business, you may continue using the current LEGACY specification until the final registration period for the Winter Cycle. After this period, new accreditation will be required to offer the updated specifications and additional qualifications.
