Dear Accredited Partner Centres,
We know that all of you have faced many challenges in supporting your lecturers and learners throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. NCC Education’s priority from the start has been to make assessments available to all learners so that they may continue their academic journey or seek employment opportunities.
We have made several adaptations to our assessments to support this priority, which include:
- All Level 4 and 5 diploma exams have been moved to become Time Constrained Assessments (TCAs), which enable candidates to complete them remotely.
- Where it is unsafe to sit exams within a centre, all Level 3 exams can be sat remotely using our ‘Guidance for Remote Invigilation’ document.
Thus, it is important that candidates complete assessments in line with the qualifications they are studying.
If a centre believes that candidates have been disadvantaged by centre closures, impacting on the candidate’s ability to take an assessment, then they are encouraged to submit an Exceptional Circumstances Policy and Procedure document to their Customer Support Executive.
Moreover, the Exceptional Circumstances Policy and Procedure will apply for candidates who are unable to sit an assessment in their centre or remotely due to the following reasons:
- The candidate is unable to meet the technical requirements to participate in remotely invigilated assessment.
- The telecommunications infrastructure in the region is unstable which is likely to lead to disruption during any remotely invigilated assessment.
This is not an exhaustive list and any candidate’s exceptional circumstances application will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
