Across its two campuses in Auckland, the institution adopts modern training approaches to prepare students for professional employment.

crucial part of what makes Unitec different is its connection with industry employers. Unitec’s School of Computing and IT actively engage with over 60 businesses in New Zealand which results in a number of internship and scholarship opportunities offered to students while they are studying towards their qualification, as well as upon completing it.

Throughout the degree, Bachelor of Computing Systems students will be taught in an applied learning environment by academic leaders in the fields of cybersecurity, software engineering and business intelligence and analysis.

At least 50% of Unitec’s Capstone project students (final semester project) undertake this project as part of an industry placement (includes Unitec internal placements and external placements such as IBM, Kordia etc.).

Additionally, throughout the year, the School organises a number of events (Unitec Computing Connect, Hackathon) which help students further engage with industry, as well as demonstrate the skills and knowledge gained while studying at Unitec.

The institution features a highly accommodating environment, with more than 12,000 students from over 80 countries. The international experience at Unitec is second to none.
