NCC Education Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing (with DATA SCIENCE) (L5 EDC DS) builds upon the knowledge gained during the Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC).
This qualification is designed to develop the specialist skills necessary to manage big data and extract valuable insights. If you enjoy statistics or working with data and information, the Level 5 Extended Diploma Data Science Specialism could be an excellent career path for you.
The Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing with Data Science is also an officially recognised Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) in England, further demonstrating that it meets industry standards and develops the advanced skills required for effective performance in a data science career.

The qualification will explore areas of in-demand computing, including artificial intelligence, data analysis, agile development, and professional and career development in IT.
Learners will study a balance of academic and vocational subjects in order to provide them with the necessary knowledge and skills to play a significant role in IT organisations.

NCC Education is accredited to award the Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing ( with Data Science) by Ofqual and Qualifications Wales (QiW).
The Level 5 Extended Diploma in Computing ( with Data Science) is an officially recognised Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) * HTQ recognition applies to England learners only.

For entry onto the NCC Education L5DC DS course, students must have at least one of the following:
- NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)
OR
- A local or international qualification, which is deemed to be of a similar level to the NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC)
This must be agreed with NCC Education in advance.
If a potential student’s first language is not English, they must also reach the
English Language requirements of either:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 5.5 or above
Alternatively, take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test, which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centres.

Assessments for all units are offered in a number of assessment cycles throughout the year.
All units, except the project, are assessed by assignments and/or examinations.
